Certification Policy

Our authorizing body, EMT Canada, will issue certifications only after the completion of courses. The certifications will be sent to the corporate group client or authorized representative, and it is their responsibility to distribute them to participants. EMT Canada and Canada’s Premier Training will retain a copy of the certificate for proof-of-completion, authentication and legal requirements. We make every effort to issue certificates within 72 hours of the course’s completion.

Every effort will be made to issue certificates within 72 hours. Canada’s Premier Training and EMT Canada will not be held responsible for unforeseen circumstances delaying issuance including but not limited to, office closure, illness, equipment (computer, laptop, etc) malfunction, cyberattacks, acts of war or terrorism, civil or military disturbances, nuclear or natural catastrophes, or acts of God. In such an event, Canada’s Premier Training and EMT Canada will take all appropriate steps and make all reasonable efforts to resume certification issuance as soon as possible.

The expiry date of the certificate will be printed on most certificates and communicated with the corporate client ahead of time. If there is no date printed, the expiry date will be communicated with the corporate client through previously established means of communication with said client and can include verbal (in person, by telephone or video conferencing) or written (email, text message or text based applications) or both.

It is the sole responsibility of the client to monitor for expiry of certificates, arrange for the renewal of soon-to-be or expired certificates and ensure their employees have active certificates. Canada’s Premier Training or EMT Canada may email clients reminders, however, these are solely out of courtesy and agreement to these emails is intended as transfer of responsibility from the corporate client.
Renewal of certificates must be done through Canada’s Premier Training courses and can either be done by completing another regular course or a condensed course intended for individuals with existing EMT Canada certifications (hence referred to as “renewal course”). Depending on the certificate and the individual situation, Canada’s Premier Training may decline to offer renewal courses to corporate clients. This decision is made at the sole discretion of Canada’s Premier Training and may be due to legal requirements, EMT Canada Policy, the employment environment or other reasons. Canada’s Premier Training will set out requirements to be met by each student who partakes in the renewal course and will be communicated with corporate clients at the time of booking a course.
